Indio Melendez is a Nuyorican Army Veteran, visual artist, actor, educational theater specialist, writer and spoken word artist now living in Jersey City. As an actor, Indio has performed on stages across the country, touring his one-man shows, as well as performing in ensemble productions.
Indio is a longstanding company member of the legendary Repertorio Español (where he can currently be seen in Doña Flor Y Sus Dos Maridos). He has also performed and toured with several renown acting troupes, including " Universes" Theater Ensemble, known for their powerful fusion of theater, poetry, hip hop and politics. Indio has been recognized and awarded for his work as a playwright and as an actor by the Downtown Urban Theater Festival, the NYC Hip Hop Theater Festival, the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors and the Latino ACE Awards. Indio was recently recognized as the “Puerto Rican Man of the Year” by Union City for his career in the arts and his dedication to cultural and community issues. For the 2017 Solidarity Awards & Cocktail Party, Indio will be blessing the event with a beautiful tribute to Ochun, and performing – for the first-time-ever – a powerful spoken word response to the 2016 Elections, titled T.R.U.M.P. (Together Resist, United Movements Prevail).

We are excited to present the Dynamic Dynasty Dance Crew! This Newark-based, award-winning hip hop dance crew is "Making a Difference thru Dance" in our communities and in the lives of young people. Founded in 2009, Dynamic Dynasty specializes in dance styles like tutting, popping, locking, animation, breaking, stunt formations, voguing, and much more! Throughout their career in the dance community they have won awards, accolades, acknowledgments and recognition as a forceful talent in the dance industry. For the 2017 Solidarity Awards & Cocktail Party, Dynamic Dynasty is performing a powerful new piece emphasizing the power of unity in the face of fear and hate.
